Break It Down

Once you have structured your practice time for a piece and prepared the score, BREAK IT DOWN into small parts. These parts will be learned individually and then gradually combined into a finished performance.

The way a piece must be broken down will depend on a factor that varies for the individual organist: the level of difficulty. Of course, what is easy for one person may be much more difficult for another. For this reason it is most important to understand this process thoroughly, and then apply it to each piece as appropriate. Read on.
