Cornet(continued)
The two-rank solo mixture usually contains the two mutations 2 2/3' and 1 3/5'.
The three-rank solo mixture adds the 2' pitch to the two mutations.
You must add at least one 8' stop to a two- or three-rank solo mixture for a good solo combination.
The five-rank solo mixture usually contains the full Cornet (pronounced “cor-NAY”), which includes one stop each of these pitches: 8', 4', 2 2/3', 2', and 1 3/5'. Since the 8' foundation is included, no stops need to be added to the five-rank solo mixture.
