8. SPAN THIRDS WITH THE TOE AND HEEL OF A SINGLE FOOT

When playing keys a third apart when one is a sharp and the other is a natural, or when both keys are naturals, you can span the interval by using the toe and heel of a single foot. This is particularly useful in broken-chord passages, where the two feet must distribute two or three notes between them.
