Independence Between the Hands: Soprano and Tenor Studies
Next we explore independence between the hands as we drill the soprano and tenor lines (only) of hymns. In the “heavy and light hand” exercise described on the previous screen, the listening skills were applied with regularity and predictability. Breaks now occur more randomly, since they appear only between repeated notes or at phrase endings.
Applying perfect legato (whenever required), precise releases, and absolute independence of line is critical in these studies.
