Examples
All of the examples that follow are suitable
for chorus-type registration. If you wish to study the process of
determining this suitability, return to the lesson, Three Primary
Types of Organ Registration.
The suggestions that accompany these examples represent one set of possibilities, and are not intended to rule out others.
In each example we seek out an appropriate range of possible combinations by considering each of the following:
- Will we lean towards CLARITY OR RICHNESS?
- What will be an appropriate VOLUME (for clarity) or volume (for richness)?
- What will be an appropriate TIMBRE? Will we lean towards pure family registration or towards mixing families (for clarity) or mixing families (for richness)?
- How will we achieve BALANCE within the divisions and between manual and pedal?
