For the purposes of basic organ registration, the stop pitches (and their corresponding partials) that have been introduced thus far are most important. Be certain that you understand thoroughly the stop pitches illustrated in the chart to the right, and how they fit into the harmonic series. If any aspects of this chart are unclear to you, review this topic until it becomes clear.
Specifically, if you are given
- any pitch designation from the chart, and
- any key being played,
be able to itentify the pitch that would be sounding.
This knowledge will be invaluable as you continue to explore organ registration.
