Remember that precision, habit building, and ease of execution--not speed--are of the essence in these exercises.
Begin with the metronome at or below the slowest tempo indicated (quarter=90 if none given), and work towards at least three perfect repetitions (“reps”) in a row before moving the metronome up three or four beats per minute.
ALWAYS PRACTICE SLOWLY ENOUGH TO STAY IN CONTROL.
Practice each until you can play three perfect reps in a row at or near the highest tempo (quarter=135 if none given). Double bar lines are provided at convenient repetition points, and repeat signs mark the end of most exercises.
