After choosing your hymn project, plan and follow through with an effective and efficient practice procedure.
This lesson will take you through a practice plan that follows the OrganTutor lesson “Practice Techniques,” but that applies specifically to the hymn “Redeemer of Israel” (Dulcimer). You can adapt this plan easily to another hymn. As you follow along, note how the practice techniques are adapted to meet the needs of this project. Certain items will be emphasized, while others will be brushed over quickly or skipped completely.
Adapt this procedure even further to fit your own learning style. Place more emphasis and spend more time on your areas of weakness, and reduce emphasis on areas of strength. But above all, make certain that your customized procedure results in high standards of organ playing.
