Main Points of Hymn Projects 2 & 3

For HYMN PROJECT 2 choose a three-part hymn setting. Three of these are found in the “Hymn Project 2” section of the Hymn Playing section of the workbook, and the others in Easy Organ Hymn Settings: “Blest Be the Tie” (“How Gentle God's Commands”), “Lord, Dismiss Us with Thy Blessing,” “Silent Night,” “Nearer, My God, to Thee,” or “Joy to the World.”

For HYMN PROJECT 3 it is recommended that you learn the soprano, tenor, and bass parts of the hymn, "Redeemer of Israel" or "Nearer, My God, to Thee." This is step 13 of the 15-step method found in the workbook for each hymn. Learning one of these is a big step towards Hymn Project 4, where you learn the 4-part version of the hymn.

Hymn Projects 2 and 3 still include only three parts: one for the right hand, one for the left, and one for the pedal. However, each line is more difficult than those of Hymn Project 1.
