WORK YOUR PLAN

KEEP A RECORD

One aspect of setting and achieving goals--and this includes practice goals--is widely accepted: they should be written down. Keeping a record of your practice goals and progress has several advantages:

  • Your progress is measurable.
  • You can begin where you left off last time by noting your place in the music and the tempo that you reached for each section.
  • It is easier to discipline yourself to move up in tempo gradually when you keep a record.
  • You can keep your eye on progress towards your due dates more confidently with written records.
