Pull any softer combination of stops and play a passage. Now press the Sforzando or Tutti reversible, and then repeat the passage. Note that the stops do not appear to change, but electrically (“blindly”) most of the stops of the organ are engaged. Press the reversible again, and you are back to hearing only the stops that you had pulled earlier. (See a video example on next screen.)
Some larger organs are equipped with an alternate Sforzando or Tutti. Pressing this piston (i.e., “Tutti II”) before activating the reversible will result in another type of full-organ combination.
