The normal position for any crescendo pedal is fully closed. Always close the crescendo pedal completely unless there is reason to open it.
The crescendo pedal, if it is present on the instrument, is the right-most pedal. It is located to the right of the Swell expression pedal on most organs. If a Solo expression pedal is provided, the crescendo pedal is located to its right.
On some instruments the crescendo pedal is not included, as it is normally used far less often than the expression pedal. It is not specifically required very often in organ literature, and the organist has only limited control over the stops that it brings into use.
