First Inaugural Season for the
New Létourneau Concert Organ
in the BYU Music Building

As part of the BRAVO! series, Durham Cathedral organist Daniel Cook plays the Concert Hall’s brand-new organ in the Dedicatory Recital of the Concert Hall Organ Inaugural Series. Cook’s “peerless” musicianship (Gramophone) and artfully selected repertoire will highlight the unique features and colors of BYU’s new 4-manual, 81-rank Létourneau organ.

Opening Faculty Recital

Organ faculty members Neil Harmon and Don Cook present their first performance on the long-awaited Concert Hall organ. The program is designed to introduce the broad range of possibility in this magnificent new instrument, with music from a wide variety of time periods and genres.
Community Hymn Sing
Sunday, October 27, 2024 - 6:30 pm (Free Event)
Come join with other community members and those attending the BYU Organ Alumni Conference for the first Hymn Sing in the Concert Hall. Hymns will be played by some of those attending the conference.
The Hymn Sing will not be streamed.
Friday, November 15, 2024 - 7:30 pm with a Pre-concert talk at 6:30 pm (Tickets on sale August 14)
The BYU Philharmonic features the new Concert Hall organ as part of its inaugural debut. The evening will highlight BYU organ faculty Don Cook as he performs Samuel Barber’s “Toccata Festiva” and will conclude with Sibelius’s thrilling Fifth Symphony.

A few outstanding BYU alumni will perform some of their favorite works on an organ that they could have only dreamed of during their years as organ majors.

This concert features all current and emeritus Salt Lake Tabernacle organists trying their hands and feet at the new Létourneau concert organ. Performers include Richard Elliott, Andrew Unsworth, Brian Mathias, Linda Margetts, Joseph Peeples, John Longhurst, Clay Christiansen, and Bonnie Goodliffe.
Saturday, April 12, 2025 - 7:30 pm (Tickets on sale November 20)
Celebrate the BYU Philharmonic’s final concert of the season, showcasing Neil Harmon performing Saint-Saëns’ Symphony No. 3, the “Organ Symphony.” This grand finale marks the culmination of the Concert Hall organ’s inaugural year, heralding many more spectacular performances to come!
